There is no honor in murdering innocent people. Especially when the victim is an alleged friend or member of the family.

A 19-year-old London woman was found dead and stuffed inside a fridge in a house that authorities claim she and another woman were forced to visit against their will. Detectives have reportedly said the heinous act may have been an “honor killing.”

According to the Independent:

The older woman managed to escape to get help and was admitted to a south London hospital with stab and slash wounds on Wednesday evening before police went to the house in Coombe Lane West[…]

A 33-year-old man, who was arrested at an address in Kent, and a 28-year-old man, who was arrested after police stopped a vehicle in New Malden in south-west London, are in custody on suspicion of murder.

A woman, 29, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, was released under investigation, and police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the case.

The younger woman’s remains were said to have been found mere hours after she was reported missing. The names of the suspects and the victims have not yet been released as of this writing -- probably because honor killings are disgusting acts typically carried out by radicals in the Islamic faith.

USA Today has reported that according to the United Nations (UN), an estimated 5,000 people around the world were victims of honor killings each year leading up to 2000. Funnily enough, the UN doesn’t appear to have “estimates” on honor killings after the War on Terror began.

A 2015 Department of Justice (DOJ) commissioned report stated that approximately “23 to 27 honor killings occur” in the U.S. each year.
