Update 3:09 PM EST: President Trump toasted Hillary and Bill Clinton for attending the inaugural luncheon on Capitol Hill following his inauguration ceremony on Friday.

He asked Hillary Clinton to stand up in recognition of her efforts and achievements.  

"I have a lot of respect for those two people," said Trump.

He added that everyone in the room – members of Congress and dignitaries alike – “all want the same thing.”

"We're all good people," said Trump. "Whether you're a Republican or Democrat, it doesn't make any difference... We're gonna get along."

Update 2:42 PM EST: Following President Trump's inaugural address, Trump signed formal nomination papers, surrounded by his family, the Pences, and leaders of Congress.

Trump and his family are now at the Inaugural Luncheon in the Capitol building, joined by members of Congress and other dignitaries. 

Former U.S. President Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama departed Capitol Hill on "Executive One" following the inauguration ceremony. 

The inaugural parade begins at 3 P.M.

The Trumps and Pences will attend the official inaugural balls starting at 7 P.M. 

Update 12:00 PM EST: Donald Trump has taken the oath of office, becoming the 45th President of the United States. 

Canons fired as he waved to the crowd of attendees. 

He will now deliver his inaugural address.

Update 11:55 AM EST: Indiana governor Mike Pence has officially been sworn in as Vice President of the United States. 


Update 11:40 AM EST: The inauguration ceremony of Donald Trump began with a Bible reading and a Christian prayer, consistent with Trump's promise to bring the country's Christian-Judeo values back to the forefront under his administration. 

Catholic Cardinal Timothy Dolan delivered the first reading. 

Rev. Dr. Samuel Rodriguez, Hispanic Evangelical leader and founder of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, delivered the second reading. 

Paula White, televangelist and pastor of the New Destiny Christian Center, delivered the prayer and blessing.

President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 45th President of the United States on Friday.

Before the inaugural events of the day began, President Obama and Trump took to Twitter to share their a quick message with their followers.  

 

President Obama and Donald Trump arrived together at the U.S. Capitol Friday morning.

Their families as well as distinguished members of Congress have been introduced, including House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.).

Distinguished guests on the main stage include Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Hillary Clinton, and Bill Clinton.

Trump was introduced last, as the announcer begins his remarks. 

Vice President-elect Mike Pence and President-elect Trump will be sworn in in just moments. Stay tuned!
