Last Friday, Senator John McCain was in Phoenix, getting a blood clot surgically removed from his brain. On Tuesday, he was in Washington D.C. casting the final Republican vote in favor of a motion to proceed on the Obamacare repeal bill.

That is badass, and I don't know who would disagree. Wait -- actually, I do.

Leftists took to the internet to condemn the 80-year-old senator for "killing millions" with his anti-Obamacare vote. In addition to hyperbole, Twitter users poked fun at McCain for his military service and even his recent diagnosis with an aggressive form of brain cancer. Classy. Here is a sampling:

If you can stomach it, you can read more of these disgusting tweets (including those that are not-safe-for-work) here.

But it was not only random tweeters who targeted the ill senator. Deadspin, an online sports publication, put out an article titled I Don't Want To Hear Another F--king Word About John McCain Unless He Dies Or Actually Does Something Useful For Once." The author of this completely unwaranted hit-piece writes, "The sum total of McCain's record of brave or maverick-y actions consists of 'giving good quote to reporters.' That's it."

I guess we forgot about John McCain's military service, during which he spent more than five years as a prisoner of the North Vietnamese, who brutally tortured him. But perhaps that does not fit the Left's definition of "brave," a charateristic that, to them, is reserved for Chelsea Manning and Bruce Jenner.

This was not Deadspin's first foray into politics. In January, they had a strange Twitter interaction with Sen. Ted Cruz, wherein Cruz ended up brutally owning the supposed "sports news" website

This proves that the Left does not know how to handle dissenting opinions. Liberals make McCain into a villain just because they disagree with his political stance on healthcare. It does not matter he nearly died serving our country in Vietnam and is now continuing to serve our country in the Senate despite his health.
