Actor Leonardo DiCaprio teamed up with President Barack Obama at the White House on Monday to rally against climate change.

He told a crowd gathered on the South Lawn for an art and technology festival that anyone who does not believe in global warming “should not be allowed to hold public office.”

"We must empower leaders who not only believe in climate change but are willing to do something about it," DiCaprio told attendees of the “South by South Lawn” event.

"If you do not believe in climate change, you do not believe in facts or in science or empirical truths. And therefore, in my humble opinion, should not be allowed to hold public office," he argued.

The Oscar winner, who supports Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, recently completed a documentary about climate change entitled "Before the Flood."

The film was screened on the White House South Lawn following a panel discussion.

DiCaprio posted a video on Tuesday via Facebook to spread his message that people who do not believe in global warming should not be allowed to hold public office.

“We can’t afford to have somebody in office that does not believe in modern science,” he wrote as the caption. “If you care about your future, vote.”
