In an appearance on “Fox and Friends” Tuesday morning, talk show host Laura Ingraham was asked to respond Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton politicizing mass shootings during a town hall meeting in New Hampshire on Monday.

She argued that the former secretary of state is stuck "in a perpetual, switch-the-subject mode," and is using the current gun control debate to distract the American people from her recent scandals.

Ingraham said,

“We’re all torn up about what happened… But here’s the problem:

“When you’re Hillary Clinton, you’re in a perpetual, switch-the-subject mode. A lot of people are going to think, she’s just a phony, and that was another moment of Clinton choreography where you bring on the waterworks in order to engender some sympathy and empathy with the voters. I’d rather just hear from the mom [at the town hall meeting] than frankly hear from Hillary."

She continued, “Whether it was true heartfelt emotion, I don’t really care. What I care about is, we have a Constitution; we have a Second Amendment. If Hillary has an idea on how to stop a lone wolf who had no psychiatric institutionalization – stop that guy from committing a terrible act – let me see that legislation, and how that’s going to pass constitutional muster.”

“This is what the Clintons always want us to do – talk about something other than what the thing is,” Ingraham added.

“The thing is, nobody believes her right now.”
