The questions surrounding Hillary Clinton's handling of the 2012 attacks on the US Embassy in Benghazi, Libya are questions that many conservatives still demand that the former Secretary of State answer. Clinton will appear once again in front of the panel for the second time on October 22, but recent comments by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), have allowed Democrats to turn the tables on the committee, claiming that the hearings are nothing more than a politically-motivated "witch hunt."
On Monday's Special Report with Bret Baier, syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer said the likelihood of her Democrat opponents raising the issue during Tuesday night's Democratic debate were slim given that the Democratic narrative on the matter has now changed. Krauthammer heaped the blame on McCarty for giving Hillary ammunition with which to respond to the unanswered questions surrounding the attack.
"They are not going to go after her on Benghazi and I don't expect they will go after her on the e-mails either. And the reason is McCarthy, I hate to say this, he handed her the way out. You simply have to say everybody knows, they've admitted it, that this is a partisan issue."
