Jonathan Gruber, whose controversial comments attributing Obamacare's passage to the "stupidity of the American voter" recently made headlines, will testify before Congress on December 9.

"Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage, and basically you, know, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really really critical to get everything to pass," Gruber said in a now-famous video from 2013.

Fox White House reporter Wendell Goler says that Gruber has admitted that the comment was inappropriate because he was "talking about the White House not making it clear that Obamacare is based on what all insurance is based on."

And, the White House's Josh Earnest tried very hard to mitigate the sentiments expressed by Dr. Gruber, who is set to testify before the House Oversight Committee on December 9th.

"The sentiments that were expressed by Dr. Gruber are not sentiments the president agrees with and frankly don't actually reflect what actually happened in the process of passing and implementing this law," Josh Earnest has said.
