Joe Piscopo ‘Seriously Considering’ Run for NJ Governor – Inspired by Trump!

Entertainer Joe Piscopo, of “Saturday Night Live” fame, says he’s “seriously considering” a bid to become the next governor of New Jersey – and that he was inspired by Pres.-Elect Donald Trump.

“I’m seriously looking at it,” “I love the people. I love the state. I know what has to be done,” Piscopo said at a recent Boys & Girls Club charity event, according to CBS New York.

Piscopo says Trump inspired him to consider a run for office after he saw the president-elect at a Florida rally:

“When I saw Mr. Trump in Tampa and he invited me to speak, I saw it was contagious. It was the movement. It wasn’t the machine,” he said.

But, Piscopo has been taking note of Trump’s tactics for quite a while. In an exclusive interview with MRCTV at the Republican National Convention in July, the entertainer marveled at the way Trump had successfully manipulated the media – and even predicted his election:

“Mr. Trump, I thought, played the media perfectly. He knew exactly what he was doing. And, he went out and he got all that publicity.

“And, then, I think somebody said it on my show, the media got mad at themselves for giving Donald….he may very well be, and could very well be the next president of the United States.”

Since he won’t make his decision until January, it remains to be seen whether or not he’ll run, or if he does, if he’ll be able to use his study to Trump to as effectively “play” the media. Watch MRCTV's exclusive interview below.
