Perhaps he wants to be the next Bruce Lee-bowitz. On Monday evening, Yair Ben Shabat was walking in Jerusalem with his pair of nunchucks when he saw a disturbance on a bus. As he recounted the incident to Ynet News:
"I jumped onto the bus and helped them struggle with the terrorist. I took nunchucks out and hit him where I had to for them to be able to pry loose the weapon he held."
Israeli police reported that before Mr. Ben Shabat saved the day:
The terrorist went to the back of the bus when he boarded and sat next to a soldier. He then stabbed him with a knife and attempted to snatch the gun. A policeman on the bus ran towards the altercation and tried to pin the attacker to the floor.
Passengers urged the driver to stop and open the doors so they could get off, while simultaneously notifying police. The policeman and two civilian passengers [one with nunchucks] fought off the assailant, who constantly tried to snatch the soldier's weapon, said police.
Meanwhile, a nearby police team boarded the bus. As law enforcement tried to overpower the terrorist, a police officer's weapon apparently fell to the floor. The terrorist managed to grab it and tried to cock it
An officer noticed that the attacker had a gun and shot him dead.
The soldier was taken to a hospital and was reported to be in light-to-moderate condition.
There were three other stabbing attacks in Jerusalem earlier in the day on Monday. During the preceding two weeks there has been a rash of terrorist attacks by Palestinians against Jews beginning on October 1st when Naama and Eitam Henkin were murdered in a shooting attack while driving their car. Their four children, aged 9, 7, 4, and 4 months, were also in the car and witnessed the murders, but thankfully were not physically injured.
The two weeks of attacks have been incited by the supposedly moderate Palestinian Chairman Mahmoud Abbas who has been making false claims that Israeli Jews are planning to damage Muslim holy sites.
Palestinian Media Watch posted the video below; it shows one of Abbas' most recent broadcasts condoning the violence with false charges of Israeli violence and threats against the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
