ISIS is celebrating U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel’s resignation with a Twitter hashtag that reads in Arabic: “The Islamic State Topples the American Defense Minister."
As is the norm for ISIS, there were Photoshop graphics to accompany the meme:
And in typical ISIS fashion, some of the graphics were downright brutal:
Hagel “stepped down under pressure” because the White House acknowledged “the threat from the Islamic State would require a different kind of skills than those that Mr. Hagel was brought on to employ," the New York Times reports today. Given that they were explicitly mentioned, perhaps ISIS is right to take credit for his resignation.
