In the umpteenth chapter of “People Who Shouldn’t Be Here” as presented by the Obama administration, a 25-year-old illegal alien was arrested Tuesday for attempted first-degree rape in Tulsa, Okla.

Adrian Alverez was also charged with first-degree burglary, stolen property, and false impersonation stemming from a fake permanent resident card.

According to a local report from Tulsa World:

The 26-year-old victim told police she was sleeping with her boyfriend at their home in an undisclosed location about 3:15 a.m. when the incident occurred. The woman, who was naked, said she awoke to a man on top of her and attempting to rape her, according to an arrest report.

The woman began screaming and hit the assailant's chest, and the man reportedly left the room and ran out the front door, which had not been locked. One of his tennis shoes was left behind.

Irrelevant side note: What fool tries to rape a woman while she’s sleeping next to her boyfriend?

On his way out, Alverez reportedly took his would-be rape victim’s phone. Police tracked the phone to an apartment where Alverez was holed up, ultimately arresting him after he gave them a fraudulent resident card, the report stated.

The article didn’t comment on Alverez’s immigration status, other than to report he’d tried to pass off the fake I.D. However, Alverez’s file on the Tulsa County Jail’s website shows U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has issued a detainer for Alverez following his release.

The report goes on to explain Alverez, who apparently doesn’t speak much English, had just about the weakest of excuses for having tried to rape the woman.

Using a translator, Alverez initially denied the allegations and told investigators he had been at a bar with a friend. He later allegedly admitted to going into the victim's residence and getting in her bed while exposing himself.

When asked why he did not ask for consent from the victim, he said, "If I would have asked, she would have said no," the report states. He also reportedly said he found the victim attractive because "she is a woman."

Just fantastic.

While tragic and understandably frustrating, this far from the first time an illegal alien has been charged with a sexual crime. According to the Center for Immigration Studies, the Obama administration last year released 19,723 criminal aliens representing 64,197 convictions back into communities across the United States. Of those convictions, 320 were for sexual assault, while another 614 were for other sex offenses.
