Even as California moves forward with protecting criminal aliens from deportation as a “sanctuary state,” U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers rounded up 237 illegal aliens with criminal convictions over a 12-day period in March, including those who’d been convicted of driving under the influence, domestic violence, burglary, sexual assault, child injury and a slew of drug offenses.

ICE officials stated they arrested 153 criminal aliens during a 12-day operation in Texas, including 138 men and 15 women.

The vast majority of those arrested (137 of the 153) had criminal histories that included convictions for the following crimes: aggravated assault with a weapon, aggravated sexual assault of a child, driving under the influence (DUI), sexual assault, burglary, robbery, resisting officer, vehicular manslaughter, alien smuggling, domestic violence, cocaine possession, prostitution, fraud, simple assault, cocaine possession, dangerous drugs and controlled substance distribution.

ICE officials revealed one 48-year-old Mexican man, whose criminal history includes a conviction for intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle, had re-entered the United States illegally after having been deported.

Another man, a 46-year-old alien who's also from Mexico, had been convicted of aggravated assault of a child, 2 DUIs and a separate assault charge.

Another 80 illegal aliens were arrested during a separate three-day sting in the Pacific Northwest last week, including a Mexican national who’d been charged with raping a child, assault and domestic violence. Another alien, also from Mexico, had been convicted of domestic violence and assault, according to ICE.

Those arrested during the weekend operation included a total of 19 DUI convictions, seven assault convictions, and 10 convictions for various drug crimes. The vast majority of arrestees (64 out of 80) were from Mexico.
