A man opened fire on a truck flying a “Make America Great Again” flag on a major Indiana highway on Tuesday.

“Officers believe the shots were fired from a newer white 4-door Chevrolet Malibu with a Louisiana plate near Emerson Avenue around 4 p.m.,” reports Fox 59 Indianapolis. “The victim and a witness informed police that the Malibu pulled up next to the pickup truck, a passenger held a handgun out of the window and then a male fired several shots.”

Thankfully no one was injured, but the man responsible remains on the loose.

The shooter was described as a black male around the age of 23. The passenger in his vehicle was described as a light skinner black male with a sleeve tattoo on his right arm.

Indiana State Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to please come forward.

Police released the following photo of a bullet hole on the assailed pickup truck.

The incident occurred just one day before a gunman opened fire on a group of Republican congressmen practicing for the annual Congressional Baseball game.

Many critics blamed the shooting in part on heightened political rhetoric.

The shooter purposefully targeted Republicans.
