"Pokémon Go," the hit smart phone game which has users explore places to catch computer-generated monsters, once again caused real-world issues when a group of players in Las Vegas were almost robbed Monday morning by an armed suspect and his underage driver. Thankfully, one player with a concealed carry permit took matters into his own hands, drawing his gun and exchanging fire with the suspect before he and his friends could be looted.

Police told the Associated Press that the would-be armed robber and one of the "Pokemon Go" players (it's unknown if this is the gun-owner) were hospitalized with non-life threatening gunshot wounds, and that charges would most certainly be brought against the suspect and his juvenile accomplice.

It is unclear whether this was a targeted robbery like the ones in Missouri a few weeks ago, when players were lured to certain locations known as "Pokestops" then robbed at gunpoint. However, the AP provided this piece of information:

Facebook users in a few Pokemon Go groups have suggested the location of the shooting, Gary Reese Freedom Park, as a hotspot for a particular kind of pocket monster known as Magikarp. In postings about nearby parks that are good places to catch specific kinds of Pokemon, the park is noted as a good place to collect the fish-like creature.

So once again, the Second Amendment and concealed carry laws helped save lives. Without their friend exercising his right to carry a firearm, God only knows what would have happended to these unsuspecting gamers.
