A 52-year-old woman, who would only identify herself as Carol, returned home last Tuesday night to find a stranger waiting for her in her garage.

“I said ‘What’s going on? What do you need? What are you doing here?’ He says, ‘I have a gun, I want your purse, and I mean it I will shoot,’” said Carol.

Carol's purse was in her car, and she told the thief that he could have it. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough for assailant. He pushed and pinned Carol against a standing tool box.

“So I grabbed a staple gun and smacked him on the side of the head. He went down to his knees,” Carol said.

Still, that wasn’t enough for Carol’s attacker. So she responded by rearming herself with two more staple guns and threatening, “I will crush your skull in if you touch me again.”

Only when the man realized he had a bloody gash across his head did he retreat.

Carol said she hopes that this story will remind people in her community to be more aware of their surroundings. As for her attacker, all Carol has to say is, “It’s not just going to be a headache next time. I’ll be prepared.”
