Across Germany, everyday citizens have begun to take matters into their own hands in response to demonstrations by radical climate activists that are disrupting German lives.

Climate activism group Last Generation has come into the spotlight recently due to its large-scale stunts to protest the pollution from mass transit. But while the activists have grown more daring and disruptive, some Germans have decided to take matters into their own hands as the public continues to lose its patience with the group.

At a recent protest where members of Last Generation were blocking traffic, drivers and pedestrians intervened and moved the activists out of the road so that traffic could resume. Video from the event shows bystanders dragging activists out of the road, including one blonde woman who quickly went viral for pulling one of the demonstrators out of the road by her hair.

“I like how these people take care of left wing traffic blockers. I especially like the blonde that drags the Antifette by the hair,” one Twitter user said in response to the video.

Police in Recklinghausen have said that they are looking into the incident to determine if criminal proceedings against those who dragged the protesters off of the road are necessary.

Last Generation has escalated its protests in recent months, testing the patience of the German public. Videos from the group’s social media pages show demonstrators blockading traffic by sitting in the way or gluing their hands to the pavement. In a protest staged on Thursday, Last Generation activists glued themselves to the runways at two airports, blocking the airplane traffic and disrupting travel for hours.

“The Last Generation isn’t protecting the climate, they’re engaged in criminal activity,” Transport Minister Volker Wissing said after the incident.

Germans’ patience with the group seems to be growing thin as their protests become more disruptive to everyday citizens. Videos continue to surface of bystanders taking matters into their own hands in response to demonstrators’ actions.
