Georgia Teacher Suspended For Allegedly Threatening a Student

A public school teacher in Georgia has been placed on administrative leave after allegedly threatening a student late last month.

It all started when a concerned parent, April Carr, sent a video of the ordeal to FOX5 Atlanta. In the cell phone footage, Rockdale Career Academy teacher Paul Hagen is seen threatening to shoot Carr's 11th-grade son in the head.

In the clip Hagen can be heard saying, "I'm serious dude. If you screw with me, you're going to get in big [explitive] trouble. Don't smile at me, man. Tha's how people like you get shot. I got a bet. I bet, by the time you're 21, somebody is going to put a bullet in your head OK? And it might be me...the one who does it."

Hagen was identified in a Rockdale County Sheriff's Office report that Carr had filed.

"I'm upset, hurt and confused," Carr told FOX 5 Atlanta, saying believes her son's laughing in class is what sparked Hagen's rant .

"He definitely should have been paying attention, getting his lesson and doing what he was supposed to be doing," Carr admitted. "[Hagen] is supposed to maintain control of that classroom and of himself... if you are frustrated, pull him out the class or wait until another class period. Let yourself calm down then pull him to the side and talk to him. You don't threaten his life."

Carr said Hagen has reached out and apologized to her son, but added she'd still like to see him terminated permanently from Rockdale County Academy.
