House Freedom Caucus member Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) says people are finding the government funding deal “troubling” and that “Congress needs to deliver on the wall.”
DeSantis was asked about the new budget deal on Fox & Friends Monday, when it was pointed out that it includes no funding for the border wall or a deportation force. It also includes no federal cuts for sanctuary cities or abortion provider Planned Parenthood.
“So, people want the wall. And I think congress needs to deliver on the wall,” DeSantis said.
“The question a lot of voters had, ‘okay you had Obama and you say you can't do things because of Obama. Now we have unified Republican control how is this materially different than what's been going on?’”
“The points you suggest are troubling and suggests that a lot of it is same old same old,” DeSantis said
The trillion-dollar bipartisan budget deal intends to keeps the government funded and running into September.
