Being a Hall-of-Fame athlete and superstar actress doesn’t have to make you an insufferable narcissist, but for Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union, that’s exactly what happened.

in an interview with an outlet called Parents.com, a site that fully favors the transgender movement, Wade and Union discussed how to effectively raise children in today’s world. The two were an interesting choice to give their take on the matter, seeing as how they moved from Florida to California because they felt the state’s transgender laws were too oppressive for Wade’s son (from his first marriage) who tried to become a female. But since the website supports stuff like that, it makes sense they were chosen.

Parents.com asked the duo the following question: “You relocated from Florida in 2020, partly because you wanted Zaya, who is transgender, to grow up in a safe environment. Was it an easy decision?”

The response was as idiotic and senseless as you’d expect:

Wade: There are a lot of reasons we decided California was best for our family and finding a community for Zaya was a big part of that. We felt that California was a place that would allow her to blossom and grow. She’s going to be a junior in high school now and she’s been able to be accepted and become her here.

Union: When you have the kind of rhetoric that is being espoused in Florida and adopted into law, that’s not an option if my child isn’t safe there. We have family and friends who don’t have the privilege of moving. So we are going to be fighting till we are out of breath to protect all kids who are oppressed. That is our responsibility as people with large platforms and as people who folks trust, and they trust us because we say the hard thing.

Seems like the more “protective” thing these two should have done as parents is encourage their son to not give into the feelings or thoughts that said he is a woman and to not enable him to act on those feelings. That would be “saying the hard thing,” but alas, such are the times we live in.

Wade and Union also said in the interview that one of their main areas of focus in raising their four-year-old daughter is children is how to have “compassion on herself” and on celebrating blackness.

Sounds like these two should have taken some parenting classes before they had kids.
