After years of partnering with the business mogul, NBCUniversal announced that they have cut all business ties with Donald Trump.

“At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values,” a statement said. “Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump.”

The statements in question include:

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best… They’re sending people who have lots of problems... They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some I assume are good people.”

Those comments sparked a backlash from the Latino community, including the network giant Univision, who announced that they were not going to show the 2015 Miss USA pageant.

To add more drama to the Donald Trump saga, after Univision decided to not air the pageant, Trump banned  Univision employees from all Trump National Doral golf courses and properties in Boca Raton, FL, as a punishment.

Trump also published the personal cell phone number of Jorge Ramos, one of Univision's top news anchors.

KTLA reports that the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, led by a local Los Angeles NBC reporter, Mekahlo Medina, called for NBC to take action against Trump before the announcement Monday.

A Change.org petition achieved over 200,000 supporters calling for NBC to sack Trump and all of his programs: The Apprentice, The Celebrity Apprentice, Miss USA, and Miss Universe.

"You [NBC] are supporting a hateful and narcissistic individual without any kind of values, both personal and business wise. Not only that, but you are supporting a growing trend of bigotry and division in this country. Mr. Trump does not need to apologize anymore, which he will not according to his remarks after being dumped by Univision. He needs to be shown that his behavior belongs in the past before the civil rights movement. It is time for him and people like him, to join this century and work for this country, not against it."

The Miss USA pageant will no longer air on NBC on July 12. NBC and Trump were co-partners of Miss USA and Miss Universe.
