The Drudge Report is exploding with old quotes and videos of Newt Gingrich saying things such as, 'The Reagan Administration has failed' and 'If Bush runs as a continuation of Reaganism he will lose'.
So what drove this complete turnaround in Gingrich? Was it Rush Limbaugh calling him out?
In February of 2011, a man called into the Rush Limbaugh show and said he believes the reason Newt Gingrich wrote a book on Ronald Reagan was for the 2012 elections and because Limbaugh called him out after Gingrich stated that the era of Reagan was over.
Limbaugh did not dispute what the man believes. In fact, he went on to tell the caller one of his employees said he only gets "two percent of the credit" that he deserves.
Here's the segment of Rush calling Newt Gingrich, as well as Jeb Bush, out for claiming the era of Reagan is over.
