Did Biden Ask Elizabeth Warren to Be His VP? She Won't Say

When asked whether Vice President Joe Biden brought up the possibility of making her his 2016 running mate in a recent meeting, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) refused to confirm or deny that the matter was discussed.

Additionally, Warren would not go on record saying that she is dedicated to serving out her full term as a senator, despite a pledge she made in 2013 to do so.

Warren described the recent meeting with Biden as  “a good, long, rambly policy conversation,” but was mum when pressed as to whether a potential spot on the Democratic ticket--if Biden were to garner the nomination--was part of the conversation. When asked whether Biden raised the issue, Warren simply replied, “It was a long conversation.”

When asked a similar question a day earlier, Warren said, “It's something I’m not talking about.”

Questions about Warren's highly-publicized meeting with Biden come at a time when there is growing speculation as to whether the Vice President will throw his hat into the ring and run for the 2016 Democratic nomination. They also come at a time when more and more Democrats are questioning whether the email controversy surrounding the Democratic front-runner, Hillary Clinton, could hinder her ability to win the White House.

Warren remains an incredibly popular figure among Democrats and is particularly well-liked among those on the far left. Polls show that liberals are increasingly gravitating towards the candidacy of Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (D-Vermont). Some speculate that gaining the support of Warren could entice those voters to support Biden if he decides to mount a challenge to Clinton, who is not seen as liberal enough by many in the party's base.
