Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine (D) formally accepted his party’s nomination for vice president at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia Wednesday night.

During his acceptance speech, Kaine made sure to criticize Donald Trump, going so far as to allege that the Republican presidential nominee has not “been paying his fair share of taxes.”

“Does anybody in this massive auditorium believe that Donald Trump’s been paying his fair share of taxes?” he asked, met with loud boos and people shouting, "No!"

“Hey, Donald, what’re you hiding?” said Kaine, demanding that Trump release his tax returns

He continued his speech with reasons why Americans should trust Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton over Trump, citing her experience as a senator and as President Obama's secretary of state.

“You cannot believe one word that comes out of Donald Trump’s mouth,” Kaine fired. "Not one word."

He must have been charged with the responsibility of changing Americans' perceptions of Clinton, as a recent CNN poll revealed that 68 percent of Americans do not believe she is honest or trustworthy, compared to 43 percent who say the same of Trump.
