Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton faced off Monday night at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.

The former secretary of state criticized Trump’s plans for the economy, including tax cuts, calling it “Trumped up trickle down" economics.

Clinton said Trump supports “the most extreme version” of trickle down economics, including slashing taxes on the wealthy.

"I call it Trumped up trickle down, because that's exactly what it would be," she fired.

“Donald was very fortunate in his life and that’s all to his benefit,” said Clinton. “He started his business with 14 million dollars borrowed from his daughter and he really believes the more you help wealthy people, the better we’ll be… I don’t believe that.”

Trump responded by noting that he started out in business with a small loan from his father.
