Chattanooga Shooter's Sister: My Brother Is 'Amazing (Annoying at Times)'

The sister of Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez, the suspected Chattanooga, Tenn. shooter, allegedly once told a reporter, "There's this misconception that Islam is a violent religion. Muslims are actually peaceful."

In 2010, Yasmeen Abdulazeez was interviewed for a Chattanooga Times Free Press article about how “Muslim teens seek acceptance, understanding.” Yameen Abdulazeez reflected on the anti-Islamic harassment she claims to have experienced.

Abdulazeez stated she would ask people who harassed her because of her faith, “Do you know what Islam really is?”

"There's this misconception that Islam is a violent religion. Muslims are actually peaceful,” she continued.

In a post on Instagram, Abdulazeez called her brother—who is accused of killing four Marines and injuring three others in an act that is being described as "domestic terrorism"—“amazing”:
