Nearly every year, the LGBT festival in Charlotte, North Carolina presents an individual with the Harvey Milk Award. But this year, the festival didn’t present it to anyone after word broke that the individual slated to receive it was a pederast.
The Harvey Milk Award is named in honor of Harvey Milk, one of the world’s first openly gay elected officials back in 1977. Though Milk pushed his gayness in every facet he could and “preyed on boys” too, as The Blaze noted, the award is typically gifted to individuals who “honor exceptional leadership, service to the community, and those who champion the LGBTQ causes that impact the Charlotte community and beyond,” according to a screenshot obtained by WSOC-TV 9.
Chad Eugene Sevearance-Turner was the widely publicized man in line for the award thanks to his being President and CEO of the Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce and a left-wing activist - until, that is, the news resurfaced that Turner was also a convicted child molester.
According to the North Carolina sex offender registry, in 1998 Turner was convicted of “committing or attempting a lewd act upon a child under 16.” Turner was accused by three boys of the abuse in ‘98, all of which he’d met through his position as the music director for New Harvest Church of God in Gaffney, S.C., according to GoUpstate.com. He served years in prison after the assaults.
According to the victims, Turner allegedly asked one of the boys to spend the night at his home and at the sleepover, asked the child “how he’d feel about a man performing oral sex on him." At another overnight, the young boy “woke up to find Sevearance [Turner] fondling him.” Another boy said Turner showed him pornography and fondled him too, claiming that “He told me if I ever told the pastor, he'd make me look like a fool and a liar.” The third boy claimed Turner fondled him several times as well.
Apparently, Turner even stepped down from his role in the Charlotte LGBT Chamber of Commerce after allegations resurfaced a few years back, yet he was still slated for the Harvey Milk Award.
In response to withholding the award from Turner, Charlotte Pride insisted, “We do not give every single award out every year. Charlotte Pride was originally going to do Harvey Milk, but upon further discussion, decided not to give out that award this year.”
Yeah, sure.
Organizers also scrubbed the Charlotte Pride website of Turner's name in an attempt to cover up what they'd intended to do. Good call - it wouldn’t look too great to award a pedo with some great town honor!
Unfortunately, however, despite Turner’s record of child abuse, he was still recognized as “Person of the Year” in 2015 by Qnotes, Reduxx reported.
The left really seems to like giving or slating awards to pedophiles. Honestly, it makes sense, as they also praise teachers who indoctrinate students and pit transgender “women” athletes against biological women while calling the competition fair, among dozens of other disturbing woke-related agenda items that slide under the media radar.

And when they don't slide, the left does what Charlotte Pride did when it tried to pretend that it never planned to give out the Harvey Milk award in the first place.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon or an FBI agent to find Turner’s record. Though Charlotte Pride eventually decided to withdraw Turner’s nomination for the award, it was only after the public pointed out how bad of a man he really was.
Good try, though.
