Carson: 'There's No Way You'll Convince Me That Unborn Children Aren't Important'

Ben Graham | October 8, 2015

Presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson valiantly defended his pro-life stance on Tuesday's "The View."

Host Whoopi Goldberg led the charge against Carson with a straw man argument that misquoted Carson about the “war on women.” He made the point that, instead, there is a war on unborn children.

Carson argued his entire career is based on the preservation of life and that nothing will change his views on abortion.

“There’s no way you’re going to convince me that they’re not important, that they’re just a mass of cells.”

Goldberg asked if Carson feels any empathy for the women who are allegedly forced to make these “horrendous decisions.”

“I am empathetic,” Carson said. “What we need to do is make sure that we provide adequate daycare centers for these mothers so that they can get their GED, their associate’s degree, their bachelor’s degree, their master’s degree.”

Goldberg interrupted Carson to say the younger, uneducated demographic was not the group she was speaking of. Carson responded that he was speaking of most women who have abortions - which, by the way, isn’t wrong. Carson's comment elicited a “boo” from the crowd - one woman even gave in to a dramatic wail.

Carson continued undeterred, saying, “A lot of those young girls who are having babies out of wedlock, when they have that first baby they stop their education and that child is four times as likely to grow up in poverty.”

“We as a society have an obligation to do what’s necessary to stop that cycle from occurring.”

Goldberg dominated the interview and made the greatest effort to defame the Republican candidate. Raven Symone could also be seen making very overstated physical queues to show her own disfavor of Carson.

Isn’t it ironic that we’ve witnessed the most vicious attacks against Dr. Ben Carson are from blacks within celebrity and academia? Who else would progressive liberals excuse for slinging racial terms like “uncle tom” and “coon” without any repercussions?
