Seven year old Adam Stinnett sported a military style haircut to school just like his step-brother who served in Afghanistan. The haircut earned him a trip to the principal's office and an order to shave his “high and tight” dew.

Adam’s mother told the school it was not a mohawk and was in fact a military style haircut to which the school replied, "Well, we're not a military school and that it has to be cut or he cannot return to school until it is reports Fox17.

“I want to be in the army, and I want to help the world,” says Adam.

His mother said he looks up to his step-brother a lot, and wants to be like him. "It broke my heart. It pretty much crushed a seven-year-old's dreams said his mother Amy.

Schools Director Bobby Cox said his the school doesn’t have a policy against military style haircuts but it is up to each school to determine if a specific haircut is distracting.

Booby Ray Memorial Elementary School is named after a fallen Vietnam Veteran from McMinnville Tennessee.

"The school should be ashamed of themselves. Is the way I feel. They have shamed a lot of military personnel," Amy told Fox 17 News. Seven-year-old Adam says he just wants his old haircut back. His mother just wants an apology and says she won't rest until she gets one.”
