Bill Clinton is attacking supporters of Bernie Sanders for.....wait for it....sexism!
To be fair, the "Bernie Bros", a group of men who support Sanders, ARE pretty awful. The Christian Science Monitor describes them as "...male, generally young, often white, and fond of misogynistic comments and foul language about Mrs. Clinton’s presidential candidacy."
They have attacked Hillary Clinton using terms that should not have any place in polite society. The "Bros" troll Facebook commenting on pro-Clinton posts and have earned themselves a nasty reputation. Even Sanders himself directly condemned these supporters.
Enter former president Bill Clinton, who used the rise of the "Bernie Bros" to launch an attack on Sanders on the eve of the New Hampshire Primary. Recent polls show Sanders with a big lead, even beating Hillary Clinton by eight points among female voters in the state.
The former president blasted the "Bros" and told the story of one Clinton-supporting blogger who had been forced to use a pseudonym after vicious attacks from Sanders supporters.
“She and other people who have gone online to defend Hillary and explain – just explain – why they supported her have been subject to vicious trolling and attacks that are literally too profane often – not to mention sexist – to repeat,” said Clinton.
Things are getting nasty as the race heats up. The "Bernie Bros" add yet another bizarre twist to a primary season that just keeps getting stranger and stranger.
