White House chief strategist Steve Bannon at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Thursday regarded the media as the “opposition party” for its biased coverage against President Donald Trump.

Speaking onstage alongside White House chief of staff Reince Priebus, Bannon said that the media’s characterization of Trump and his administration has “always” been wrong.

“If you look at the opposition party, how they portrayed the campaign, how they portrayed the transition and how they're portraying the administration, it’s always wrong," Bannon said.

“If you remember, the campaign, by the media’s description, was the most chaotic, the most disorganized, most unprofessional -- had no idea what they were doing. And then you saw [the media] all weeping and crying [on election night]," he explained.

The former head of Breitbart News went on to predict that “every day, it is going to be a fight” between the press and the Trump administration.

“It’s going to get worse everyday with the media,” said Bannon. “They’re corporatist, globalist media that are adamantly opposed to an economic-nationalist agenda like Donald Trump has.”

“He’s going to continue to press his agenda, and as economic conditions get better, and as more jobs get better, they are going to continue to fight,” he said. “If you think that they are going to give you your country back without a fight, you are sadly mistaken. Every day, it is going to be a fight."

Bannon added that he’s most proud of President Trump for not wavering despite all the unfair press.

“[With] all the opportunities he had to waver … every day in the Oval Office he tells Reince and I, I committed this to the American people, I promised this when I ran, and I am going to deliver on this,” he said.

Bannon concluded his remarks by telling CPAC attendees to "hold us accountable for delivering on what we promised."

"Hold us accountable to what we promised -- hold us accountable for delivering on what we promised," he said.
