Venezuelans are mad as hell, and they’re not going to take it anymore.

Or at least, that seems to be the sentiment from anti-government protesters, who made a profound statement on Monday against the Nicolas Maduro-led government.

In response to Venezuela’s Supreme Court rejecting a proposal that would’ve prevented President Maduro from “rewriting the country’s constitution," protesters set fire the court building itself.

According to the Telegraph:

Violence broke out in protests at the Supreme Court over a bid to change the constitution, and Venezuela's chief prosecutor said on Monday her family had been threatened and followed by intelligence agents since she split with the government.

Fanned by anger at triple-digit inflation along with shortages of food and medicine, protests have grown smaller but more violent over the past two months, with at least 67 killed and thousands injured.

Reports of hyperinflation, crime and violence were confirmed last week when MRCTV spoke to Venezuelan citizen Aura Garrillo, who revealed how the Venezuelan government is killing its own people.

“Sixty young kids, mostly young kids, who have died have been by the armed forces of the Maduro regime,” Garrillo said, adding they “[have died] as a way of repressing these demonstrations.”

Essentially, anti-government protesters are upset because they don’t want to see Maduro rip up the country’s constitution and create a dictatorial regime with his own rewritten constitution.

The Telegraph also reported about how both Maduro and anti-government citizens feel about the upcoming assembly election, scheduled for July 30:

Mr Maduro says Venezuela is the victim of an "economic war" that he says can only be addressed by a constituent assembly.

The elections council has set an election for the assembly for July 30. The opposition is refusing to participate in the vote, saying it is rigged in favor of the Socialist Party.

Socialists rigging an election? Say it ain’t so?!
