Alan Grayson Considering Senate Run

danjoseph | February 4, 2015

Rep. Alan Grayson(D-FL) is considering a run for the U.S.. Senate.

You remember Alan Grayson, right?  For those of you who don't or who may have forgotten, here's a quick look back at some of the congressman's most memorable moments.

There was that time that he went up before Congress and said that Republicans want Americans to "die quickly, if they get sick."

Then he called Republicans "knuckle-dragging Neanderthals":

Who can forget the time he told Chris Matthews that Dick Cheney was a vampire:

Then, there was the time when he barged into a Perkins restaurant where his GOP challenger was meeting with supporters in order to intimidate his opponent.

He ended up losing his bid for re-election in 2010.

He also couldn't resist making a statement about Rush Limbaugh's personal problems:

Rush Limbaugh is a has-been hypocrite loser, who craves attention. His right-wing lunacy sounds like Mikhail Gorbachev, extolling the virtues of communism. Limbaugh actually was more lucid when he was a drug addict. If America ever did 1% of what he wanted us to do, then we’d all need pain killers.”

But, he may have some personal problems of his own.(Besides the obvious anger issues.)

In 2012, Grayson ran two red lights and crashed into a bus, injuring two people.  After the crash, it was discovered that Grayson had racked up nine traffic citations since 1995.

Despite all of these incidents, Grayson was able to win re-election to the House of Representatives after Florida changed the boundaries of several districts allowing the liberal hero to run in a safely Democratic district.

But, being back in congress hasn't stopped his tumultuous personal life from becoming news.

In 2014, Grayson and his wife split after she accused him of battery.  His ex-wife also claims that Grayson has stopped supporting her and the Grayson's four children.

Who better to represent the great state of Florida in the U.S. Senate?

But there's a catch.  Grayson has said that he might not run if Debbie Wasserman Schultz decides to make a go at the seat.

“She’s the head of the national party, extremely well-known and well-regarded,” Grayson said. “She’s got an enormous base of support not just in South Florida but around the country.”

So there you go Florida. You've got some tough political choices coming up in the next couple of years.  I don't envy you guys.
