Arab TV station Al-Arabiya aired segments from a 40-minute video filmed in Pakistan of the failed Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad. Within the video he vows to seek revenge and stated that the Muslim war has just started. The video also shows the logo of Umar Studios, a media organization that is infamous for making Pakastani Taliban propaganda.
Here is a transcript of what he said:
“And one of the things which is the most prominent in Islam when I came to it was jihad. I mean, people do pray, they do—they give zakat (alms tax), they do fast, they go to Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca), but they follow part of it, but they don’t follow the other part of it which is fighting in the cause of Allah. And, uh, and jihad, the importance that it has is, I’m just going to explain that to you. The explanation of a jihad is (begins reading from book) a jihad, holy fighting in Allah cause with full force of numbers and weaponry is given the utmost importance in Islam, and is one of its pillars on which it stands. By jihad Islam is established. Allah’s word is made superior. His word being La ilaha ill-Allah which means, ‘none has the right to worship but Allah.’ And His religion Islam is propagated. By abandoning jihad, may Allah protect us from that, Islam is destroyed, and Muslims fall into inferior position, their honor is lost, their lands are stolen, their rule and authority vanish. Jihad is an obligated duty in Islam on every Muslim.” “InshaAllah (God willing), eight years has past by in Afghanistan, and you’ll see that the Muslim war has just started, and we’ll tell you how, how—until the—until Islam is spread throughout the whole world.” “The other point is, is that this this attack on the United States will also be a revenge attack from all, for all the mujahideen (holy warriors) and mujahireen (Muslim emigrants), and the weak and oppressed people of Muslims. For example, Baitullah Amir Mehsud, as well as the Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, and all the Muslim Arab that have been martyred. I will take revenge on their behalf, InshaAllah. And I really wish that hearts of the Muslim will be pleased with this attack, and InshaAllah.” “Islam is coming to the world, InshaAllah. Islam will spread on the whole world. And the democracy will be defeated, and so was communism defeated, and all the other ‘isms’ and ‘schisms’ will be defeated, and the word of Allah will be supreme, InshaAllah.
