Getting young Americans involved in politics can be tricky. This year is no exception as millennials have expressed widespread dissatisfaction with the current crop of 2016 presidential choices.
But not 12-year-old Weston Imer. Imer is the official co-chairman of the Jefferson County Trump for President campaign in Colorado and is currently handling all day-to-day oporations at the headquarters. It’s an important county in an important swing state.
Jefferson is the fourth most populous county in Colorado. It voted 53 percent for Republican Mitt Romney in the 2012 race.
Imer will have to go back to school in September and his mom will take over official duties at the Jefferson Country Trump/Pence headquarters. But Imer says he will remain involved and make it a point to reach out to younger voters.
“Get involved. Just get involved,” Imer told FOX31 Denver. “Kids need to be educated.”
