This is really just another thing that Crist's opponents are going to use to claim hes a hack. The basic argument on him is that he will do and say whatever he thinks is necessary to advance his political career. So the claim will be that in 1998 Charlie thought that calling for Clinton to resign was most politically advantageous. However his opponents will claim that when Charlie saw that he was too far left to win his own party's nomination he jumped ship and is now running as an independent. And now instead of saying things that he thinks the right wants to hear he is instead stabbing them in the back rhetorically and through his actions. And the biggest thing they'll point to in order to make that case is the fact that he refused to return campaign donations to those who asked even after promising he would. This certainly isn't a good development for Crist.
