Bloomberg: 'Sad Day' if Mosque Gets Shouted Down
Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 9:29am
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said it would be "a sad day for America" if opponents are successful in killing plans for the proposed mosque near Ground Zero. The mosque, if built, would be located just blocks away from the World Trade Center site.
However, the views of Americans vastly differ from those of Bloomberg.
Polls show that close to 70% of Americans oppose the mosque at Ground Zero. Surprisingly, Harry Reid also came out in opposition of the mosque. The President, on the other hand, is backtracking from his initial comments made on the issue.
