Arizona state Democrats and Planned Parenthood joined forces to host a drag queen story hour for children at the State capitol to teach parents how to “transition” their young children.
At the event, held in the building’s basement (little on the nose there, but hey), a man dressed in drag makeup read an illustrated book called “Queer and Fearless: Poems Celebrating the Lives of LGBTQ+ Heroes,” to a roomful of adults. The book is a collection of stories and poems, including tales of preschool-age children discovering their own gender identity and beginning their “transition” before they can write their own name.

Republican Arizona House Speaker Ben Toma blasted Democrats after the event, saying they mislead him when they reserved the room for the event, saying they told him they needed to “use the room for a stakeholder meeting.” In response, he’s now banned Democrats from access House meeting rooms.
Democrats, on the other hand, have sworn up and down that they didn’t try to hide anything when they booked the event, and that the entire thing was just a man in a spangly outfit reading a book to adults.
