You know that horrible “genocide” whiny students are currently semi-hunger-striking over, wherein thousands upon thousands upon thousands of innocent Palestinian women and children have been mowed down in cold blood by Israeli soldiers with the gall to defend their homeland against terrorists?
Yeah, turns out Hamas’ death toll estimates may have been just a smidge off.
Just weeks after flaunting Hamas-provided death numbers for women and children killed in Gaza since the terror group attacked Israel on October 7, the United Nations’ Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has quietly revised its previous report, cutting the number of dead innocents by about half of what they originally reported.
The New York Post reports:
According to an infographic published in OCHA’s daily report on May 6, the number of women killed in the fighting was said to be 9,500, while the organization, which admits to relying on figures from the Hamas-run Ministry of Health in Gaza, claimed that 14,500 children had been killed since the war began on Oct. 7.
Two days later, in its May 8 report, the UN agency appeared to have cut the number nearly in half, showing instead that some 4,959 women and 7,797 children had been killed so far in the war, which began after thousands of Hamas-led terrorists infiltrated southern Israel from Gaza, slaughtering more than 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking some 240 people hostage.
While nearly 13,000 dead bodies is certainly quite the pile, it’s a far cry from the 24,000 women and children casualties reported just two days prior. And it calls into question whether that 13,000 figure is any more accurate than the previous estimate.

Considering that Hamas is a terrorist group that rapes, murders and kidnaps women and children themselves, I’d take their crocodile tears with an ocean’s worth of salt.
Even still, the Palestinian death toll numbers - whether real or entirely fabricated - have been used by everyone from the Biden administration and global politicians to petulant brats on college campus quads to blast Israel for committing “genocide” against the Palestinian people, call for the annihilation of the Jewish state and the Jewish people, and garner support for terrorists who have no qualms murdering and torturing innocent civilians - as long as they’re Israeli, of course.
